The Orchard visit the Rose Gardens
13th July 2016
The residents from The Orchards in St Albans, had an enjoyable day out at the Rose Gardens and were lucky to be blessed with some beautiful weather!Because we have visited the gardens during the summer season the gardens were at their best, displaying many historic and modern varieties of rose in different settings and planting arrangements that include different types of companion planting. Some of the residents are avid gardeners and enjoyed guessing the names of rose types, the colours and smelling the beautiful flowers. In the photo you can see us in front of one of the ornamental fish ponds, there were also heritage beds displaying the history of some of the newer varieties. After spending time in the gardens, we enjoyed a picnic in the marquee, which gave us protection from the sun. We also enjoyed a lovely cream tea in the gardens.[gallery ids="13422,13419,13420,13421,13423,13418,13417,13416,13415"]
