The Orchard are visited by a gospel choir
5th May 2016
The Orchard residents were treated to an hour of music from a local gospel choir.Music can help improve the quality of life for people by creating a happy environments for carers, family and care home staff, and also a stimulating environment.Singing can lift spirits, but it can also do so much more. There is now hard evidence to show that music participation can help those living with dementia to engage and remember; and more generally, alleviate the effects of breathing diseases; reduce stress and anxiety; and build relationships between residents, carers and staff. The residents were amazed by their voices and enjoyed singing along to the gospel songs.Thank you for your visit and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
