Personal Thanks to our Well Wishers
How could the staff and residents at Latham Lodge give thanks to friends, family and the local community thought Home Manager Sylvia Morse Carter? By making a huge banner and having it attached to their wall for the entire world to see.
Overwhelmed by the sheer volume of gifts received into the home over the past few weeks by well wishers. Sylvia, asked carer Anne Kelly & Activities coordinator Debbie Pearson, and residents if they would help her to complete this personal sentiment. Anne brought a blank banner from Asda, whilst Sylvia gave an overview of who she wanted the banner specifically thanking.
Anne spent 5 hours at home stenciling the title and message ‘ Thank You, You are all amazing and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It means so much to know you are supporting us in these tough times’ along with sticking on the rainbows, of which has become the essential logo within the Covid 19 outbreak. Once Anne had finished, she brought the banner into work for Debbie and the residents to colour in the rainbows and add the final touches to the finished piece.
Personal thanks to went out to
- Purbrook Park School – Donations of Masks and Gloves along with a poster
- Dominoes – Providing lunch time Pizza to staff and residents
- Relatives and Friends – Providing cakes, biscuits and Easter eggs. Along with cards and emails full of kind words, appreciation and support for the staff.
- Street of houses opposite – Put together a hamper of goodies for staff and there was sufficient in it for all them to have a ‘ lucky dip’ with some left over to share.
Sylvia advised ‘My team are just amazing! I couldn’t be prouder of the entire team and what we have achieved in these very difficult and challenging times ‘
