Pet therapy at Horsell Lodge
The residents at Horsell Lodge Care Home had a visit from Bella and they all loved meeting her. Pet therapy has been shown to improve satisfaction, energy levels, self-esteem, and mood, as well as decrease depression. Additional benefits include increased motor skills and movement, improved social skills and verbal communication.
It definitely seemed to have this effect on the residents who thoroughly enjoyed petting receptionist Lucinda’s companion Bella yesterday. The joy, happiness, and smiles this furry four-legged little visitor brought to our residents was priceless.
