Platinum Jubilee Party at Horsell Lodge
Residents and their families at Horsell Lodge Care Home celebrated the Platinum Jubilee last week with a 1950’s themed Street Party. The home decorated for the occasion in patriotic red, white and blue. There were flags and bunting in honour of Her Majesty.
All the team at Horsell Lodge spent time outside, enjoying a selection of traditional street party foods made on site by our wonderful chef. As part of the celebrations we all enjoyed some live music from LucyLou Sings For You. It was a great event and the residents had a wonderful time listening to the music and reminiscing about their youth and their ‘royal’ experiences.
Earlier this year Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee. This marked her 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.
To celebrate this unprecedented anniversary, events have been taking place across the country over the four-day bank holiday weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed being part of those celebrations at Horsell Lodge.
