Shetland Ponies come to Whittington House
23rd June 2018
Whittington House nursing home in Cheltenham had a visit from two adorable Shetland ponies called Lollipop and Tinkerbelle. We gathered the residents for group sessions in the lounges before going in the lift to visit residents in their rooms. The ponies were gentle and affectionate and the residents loved interacting with them. They wore special tabards to prevent any little accidents being left behind which gave everyone peace of mind.Ponies are known to offer therapeutic benefits to the venerable elderly and very young. They are intuitive and respond to the emotions of the people around them.
Everyone agreed this was a special visit which we hope to repeat in the very near future.[gallery columns="2" link="file" size="medium" ids="27343,27342"]Whittington House Nursing Home in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire is a modern, purpose-built home and provides residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 66 people. If you would like to find out more about life at Whittington House, or would like to speak to a member of our team, please contact us on 0808 223 5396 or [email protected].
