A spookily amazing day at Guysfield

The residents of Guysfield Care Home in Hitchin, had fun filled celebrations for Halloween.Everyone enjoyed fancy dress, cupcake decorating, pumpkin curving, a tea party and live entertainment to celebrate.Guysfield residents created themed decorations for the home, including paper baths and spooky masks, with the help of the care team residents decorated the communal areas of their home.Chef baked some muffins which the residents happily decorated for our afternoon tea party where we spoke about Halloween traditions such as 'Trick of Treat', Jack-o-Lanterns, Ghosts and costumes that everyone dresses up in for the day. Some of them they loved, such as costumes, others like trick or treating they weren't too sure about.We all had lots of laughs during pumpkin carving. Residents drew on the designs and the care team helped with the carving and emptying of the pumpkins. The funny feeling of the pumpkins insides brought on many different reactions from our residents!We sealed the day with a late afternoon tea party where a variety of snacks, homemade cheese cake, biscuits and more were provided. Pete Morton joined us at our party singing and playing on his guitar.
