Spooktakular win at Benson House Care Home

The Head Chef at Benson House Care Home, Marcella Field has been named as a winner in a competition to mark Halloween. The 'Deliciously Gruesome Care Home Bakes' competition was open to all chefs at care homes across the UK to mark the spooktakular occasion.

To enter they needed to submit their spooky bake creations and following a large number of amazing entries it proved challenging to pick the winners but Marcella was one of them - congratulations!

The cake was a vanilla sponge with butter icing shaped as a scary pumpkin with a surprise inside...so when it was cut into a cascade of skittles came out for all to enjoy as a little treat!

When asked about her winning entry and her role at the home Marcella said:

"I love seeing the residents faces when we have themed days or events. It makes me so satisfied to be able to provide the residents with a little excitement. Making the residents happy and smile is why I enjoy my job as head chef at Benson House."

Everyone at the home enjoyed the scary cake and the icing on it was that Marcella won.
