'The Squirrel' written by a Cotman House resident
16th November 2016
A resident at Cotman House in Felixstowe, took it upon herself to write a short poem about a squirrel she sees during the day in the garden. We do hope you enjoy it.
Squirrel, squirrel, at my door,What are you nibbling in your paw?You are so cheeky and impulsive; Why do I find you so repulsive? Is it your face so like a ratOr your furry tail like my winter hat?No. it's how you scurry up the treeThat really, really bothers me.You climb on up without a stop,Until you reach the very top. Then you stare from your lofty post -That is what I hate the most. When winter comes I'll get reliefBecause the tree will lose its leaf. You will be on the roam once more,To sit beside some other door.
