The Manor Receive Heartwarming Visit From Summer Cycle Club
On Monday 31st July, residents at The Manor experienced a delightful surprise when 24 children from Ross Crook's Summer Cycle Club paid them a visit.
The connection between Ross Crook's Summer Cycle Club and The Manor was initially sparked when few weeks prior, Ross brought a group of approximately 13 children to visit the Homes’ pet pigs, and the visit left a lasting impression on everyone involved. The Manor's dedicated wellbeing team, consisting of Aminah, Kerry, and Tony, saw an opportunity to create a special experience and extended an invitation to the children to meet the residents and tour the Home.
On the day, Ross and his club arrived at The Manor with radiating enthusiasm and warmth, their faces showcasing sincere curiosity. The children were divided into two groups, ensuring that they could connect with as many residents as possible.
Conversation Flowing
In the morning, they engaged in heartwarming conversations with residents in the St Andrews suite lounges, sharing stories, laughter, and creating connections. As a special treat, the club then gathered in the cinema room to enjoy the beloved movie, "Paddington” while having their lunch. While they were doing this, residents had their lunch too.
The visit continued to spread positivity and smiles throughout the day as the children made their way to the Charlotte suite to interact with more residents. In a touching display of kindness, some of the children accompanied residents to their rooms for one-on-one conversations.
Residents at The Manor were overjoyed by the visit, with one resident exclaiming, "Well, it was just wonderful! They came to me and chatted away!"
The heartfelt connection established between Ross Crook's Summer Cycle Club and The Manor is a testament to the power of intergenerational interactions and the positive impact they have on the lives of residents.
