The Orchard Care Home resident designs Christmas card for home
Residents and staff at The Orchard Care Home in St Albans, are delighted that a design by resident Nora Hallinan is being used for the home’s Christmas card this year.
The festive letterbox design with holly decorations has been professionally printed on a card to be sent out to friends and family as well as stakeholders and community contacts.
Part of the Caring Homes family of 70 homes across the country, The Orchard Care Home provides residents with high quality dementia, residential and nursing care on a permanent and short stay basis.
This year Caring Homes gave every home the opportunity to design and print their own card with residents, relatives and community groups all getting involved.
Head of Marketing Emma Clarke said, “Our homes really enjoyed getting involved in designing their own Christmas cards this year and we have had some amazing designs from residents, relatives and community groups who are involved with the homes.
“Christmas is an amazing time of year in our homes with lots going on. The festive season, with its familiar sights, sounds and smells, evokes a lot of happy memories for our residents and there is always time to talk about Christmas past as well as enjoy everything which is planned for this year.”
Caring Homes was established in 1994 by registered nurse Helena Jeffery and her son Paul. Since then the company has grown to become one of the most highly respected independent care and support providers in the UK and it remains family run.
A design by a resident at Southlands Place, in Bexhill on Sea, is being used this year to promote the company’s festive breaks. The distinctive, colourful, Christmas tree baubles design including the words Friendship, Thanks and Hope is being used to help promote festive breaks at Caring Homes care homes across the country. It will be seen on banners, flyers and advertisements as well as in newspapers and on social media.
