The "Poppyfall" exhibit for Whittington

A few residents from Whittington House nursing home in Cheltenham visited GCHQ’s giant waterfall of handmade poppies in the Lady Chapel as part of the WW1 Commemoration.Gloucester Cathedral has recently undergone major refurbishments including the walkways being more accessible to wheelchairs which made our access the Lady Chapel so much easier. The residents looked in amazement at the sheer size and incredible detail that had gone into the display.We returned to Whittington House where the residents chatted non-stop about our trip saying they “Thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon”, it was “Absolutely perfect”, and “It was so nice to see such a wonderful display of poppies and to be able to pay our respects too”.Whittington House Nursing Home in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire is a modern, purpose-built home and provides residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 66 people.If you would like to find out more about life at Whittington House, or would like to speak to a member of our team, please contact us on 0808 223 5396 or [email protected].
