Themed Events at Horsell Lodge
The residents and team at Horsell Lodge Care Home have enjoyed a range of themed days at the home with decorations and delicious food on offer as they extended their knowledge of different cultures. They started by gaining insight into the country, customs and delicacies of Brazil - home to colourful carnivals, wildlife and landscapes as well as a nation with an appetite for parties and the home was decorated to celebrate the day.
For National Pizza Day the residents enjoyed making their own creations, rolling the dough proved to be a good arm workout but they enjoyed being able to choose their own toppings to suit their preferred tastes. The residents and team enjoyed the final creations and were complimentary on taste and topping designs.
The final event celebrated was Chinese New Year, the team decorated the Thistle Dining Room with wonderful lanterns and other decorations to transform it ready for the delicious food to be enjoyed. There were a range of traditional dishes which the Head Chef and hospitality team prepared as well as customary fortune cookies and cards which added a further element of tradition and fun. Everyone definitely had fun marking the beginning of the 'Year of the Ox'.
