Top award for Laverstock Care Centre Carer from The Wiltshire Care Partnership

There was cause for celebration at Laverstock Care Centre, based in Salisbury, Wiltshire; Kelly Bartlett, Senior Healthcare Assistant recently won the first Wiltshire Care Partnership’s ‘Extra Mile Award.’Nominations for the ‘Extra Mile Award’ are open to anyone working for a social care provider who has done something in the last month that has made a difference to the service or someone receiving care. Kelly was nominated by Helen Pessell, Home Manager of the Laverstock Care Centre, for her help in running an ‘Edge On’ support group for people diagnosed with dementia.Helen says: “Kelly is passionate about her job. When she takes on a responsibility she really carries it through. She leads a busy life with three sons and yet volunteers to help the dementia specialist, run the Edge On group at Laverstock.“She returns to the Care Centre in her own time supporting residents as they form a support group helping each other with issues surrounding having their diagnosis of dementia. She even went in to support when she was packing to go on holiday the next day!”As a winner Kelly received a certificate and a £20 Amazon voucher from Wiltshire Care Partnership, and a big thank you for doing something very special!
