View Point cafe trip for Cotman

14th July 2017
Some of the residents from Cotman House in Felixstowe, enjoyed one of the regular trips to the View Point Cafe. The residents enjoyed a trip to the cafe which is situated on the Landguard Peninsular, adjacent to the Port of Felixstowe, on the Orwell estuary, to enjoy some fish and chips and the amazing views. The residents and care team sat on the large terrace outside, watching the enormous ships pass by with their loud engines, they could even feel the vibrations as they passed. They watched the boats moving in and out of port, assisted by the small tug boats, before watching them be unloaded by the giant quayside cranes. The sight of the tiny yachts and foot ferry crossing the harbour really brought home how large the ships were! The residents enjoyed discussing where the ships had been and what they were carrying.
They also had a look in the Visitor Centre attached to the cafe which gave information about the ships entering and leaving port, along with videos and exhibits.Cotman House provides residential care in a purpose built environment for up to 61 elderly people over looking the Felixstowe Bay.If you would like to find out more about life at Cotman House and the care we offer, or to request a meeting with our Home Manager, please contact us on 0808 223 5321 or [email protected]
