Whittington House goes the whole hog for Chinese New Year
Whittington House Nursing Home in Cheltenham celebrated the Chinese New Year. During arts and crafts club the Residents had fun making paper lanterns and colourful fans which were used to decorate all the dining tables ready for super time.
The In House Chefs prepared a wonderful Chinese style menu for supper which consisted of Noodle Soup, Sweet & Sour Pork, and Vegetable Stir Fry with Prawn Crackers and for desert Chinese Mango Pudding. The Residents enjoyed tasting all the dishes and a few of them were brave enough to try eating with chop sticks too.
It was lovely to see so many residents gathered in the dining room to get involved in new experiences and to engage in social interaction with one another. They are really looking forward to celebrating St David’s Day in March now that they have learnt our new second chef is Welsh!
