Wear Something White for Wellbeing – Friday June 19th
Caring Homes Wellbeing Day will be taking place on Friday, June 19 and we hope that every Home will be taking part. Our own special day marks the run up to World Wellbeing Day on Monday 22nd June.
Project Support Manager Melissa Jeffery explained, “The aim of the day is to raise awareness for both staff and residents physical and mental wellbeing and we would like to invite you to celebrate by wearing something white for wellbeing.
“In addition to wearing something white we would also encourage you to bring in an old white t-shirt or napkin (whatever you fancy!) and get involved by painting rainbows on these items to support and raise awareness for all those working in the frontline against Covid-19.”
During the Cobdi-19 outbreak the rainbow has become a key symbol, including a national campaign where children have been putting rainbows in their windows to show support and just to cheer people up who may see them from outside. The rainbow is a symbol of hope and positivity, after all you can’t have a rainbow without the rain.
Other suggested activities for Caring Homes Wellbeing Day could include:
- An Afternoon Tea – how about making it rainbow themed!
- Mental health activities – how about some seated yoga or meditation
- Physical health activities – what about running a Wellbeing themed nutrition cooking class
