Wear Something White for Wellbeing Day Monday June 21
After a successful launch in 2020 our own special day marks the start of World Wellbeing Week with an opportunity for participants to promote an overall awareness for the wide-ranging aspects of wellbeing, including social, physical, emotional, financial, career, community and environmental wellbeing.
Project Support Manager Melissa Jeffery explained, “The aim of the day is to raise awareness for both staff and residents physical and mental wellbeing and we would like to invite you to celebrate by wearing something white for wellbeing.
“This year we have chosen to have a theme in addition to asking people to join in by wearing white and that’s hydration.
“Making sure we drink enough is important for us all and especially so for our care home residents and care teams. Our homes are coming up with some creative and exciting ways to take part.”
Among the creative ideas homes have been planning for the day are a tea tasting, an ice cream van visit and mocktail creating as well as a sparkles and strawberries at the races event.
Some of the benefits of making sure we stay properly hydrated include:
• Increases energy
• Relieves fatigue
• Improves brain function and concentration
• Helps prevent headaches
• Can help with weight loss.
• Flushes out toxins.
• Improves skin
• Maintains regularity.
