Wedding Celebrations at Parris Lawn
Today the Deputy Home Manager at Parris Lawn Nursing Home in Lewes returned to us as a married man, and we could not see that go by without a party.
Costin had returned to his beautiful homeland of Romania to marry his fiancé of three years and the Parris Lawn family pulled together to celebrate Costin and his well-deserved happiness. For his first day back to the home as a married man residents helped the care team decorate the reception, one of the dining rooms and living rooms with balloons, banners and confetti, ready for his surprise party.
Everyone congregated in the dining room as Jackie (Home Manager) brought Costing through. He was welcomed with cheers and a big round of applause, Costin was amazed by the effort everyone had made, he was speechless.
The top table held a four tiered lemon and blueberry wedding cake, topped with lemon icing baked by our very own talented chefs, complete with cake topper and edible flowers. Costin cut the cake as we all watched on, but it was too emotional for any speeches.
A beautiful buffet lunch of vol-au-vents, quiches, salads, sandwiches, pastries and other party favourites was laid out by our team of chef's, as everyone sat around the tables eating with a glass whilst listening to background music and chatted. The residents thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations which were finished with singing and dancing in the lounges.
Costin exclaimed at the end of the day, "Thank you for being such a super team, we had such an excellent party, I truly appreciate all the effort everyone has put in!"
Congratulations from us all Costin!
