We're all going on a summer holiday at Parris Lawn
Everyone at Parris Lawn Nursing Home in Lewes all felt like they were going on a summer holiday this week as the sun came out and so did our wonderful residents in their numbers.
The garden was decorated with colourful bunting, umbrellas, flags and ice cream cart. Sharon, Chloe and Carol designed and created the Parris Lawn ice cream cart, this time it was just used for scenery but it is usually used for trips and deliveries to our residents to join in our ice cream fun. As the residents walked into our summery decorated terrace, they were all saying, “Oh it’s like we're on our holidays”!
The Carousel Theatre Company entertained us with a cabaret show based on a 1950’s Summer holiday. The show included Punch and Judy, a knobbly knees contest and various holiday singalongs! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it, singing along to the songs they knew.
Our chefs because let’s face it, what kind of party is it without their fantastic food! A superb summer spread, a tasty and beautifully laid out buffet plus a great array of mocktails. This fine culinary team never cease to amaze us! The homemade buffet consisted of chicken skewers, vegetable skewers, sausage rolls, vegetable quiches, canopies, potato wedges, sandwiches, spring rolls and salad!
Thank you to everyone of our care team for making the day possible and special, and of course, to our genuinely kind and loving residents. Without you none of this is possible and you make us the family we are here at Parris Lawn.
