Whittington celebrate music from around the world

1st November 2018
Whittington House nursing home in Cheltenham hosted music from around the world reminiscence sessions this week. To assist with this the activity co-ordinator hired out Wilson boxes, from Cheltenham gallery and museum. These are used for educational and reminiscence purpose, in schools and care homes. The residents were shown an instrument that allowed them to use all 5 senses, they were then quizzed see if they could guess what type of instruments it was and where it originated from. Everyone enjoyed this activity immensely, saying how interesting it was and how nice it was to learn something new about other cultures. It was lovely to see so many residents getting involved using their mind and having social engagement with each other. This helps their well-being and reduces the risk of isolation.Whittington House Nursing Home in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire is a modern, purpose-built home and provides residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 66 people. If you would like to find out more about life at Whittington House, or would like to speak to a member of our team, please contact us on 0808 223 5396 or [email protected].
