Whittington House gets in the festive spirit
18th December 2018
Residents and staff at Whittington House care home with nursing in Cheltenham donned their festive get up in aid of Save the Children’s ‘Christmas Jumper Day’. Everyone got into the spirit with some of the residents walkers being decorated too.In the afternoon the residents gathered in the dining room for a special Christmas church service with traditional carols. The residents really enjoyed the singing and got quite emotional when we all sang ‘Silent Night’. The service was then followed with refreshments and mince pies. The residents and carollers from St. Marks Church then all socialised. We all got to know each other better and shared our Christmas time memories. After supper the resident’s spirits were again uplifted with a visit from the Brownies who are the 18th Cheltenham pack. The troop of 29 children sang more carols to the residents in the lounges and went along the corridors for all the residents in their rooms to listen to.It was a wonderful and festive day, full of rejoicing, laughter and socialising.
