Whittington House Jingled all the way!
4th December 2018
The residents enjoyed their first visit from the local playgroup Jo Jingles this week at Whittington House care home with nursing in Cheltenham. We gathered on Woodland suite where we joined in the fun with the babies and pre-school children and their families. The session was run by Kim, who provided music, instruments, scarves, bubbles and Jo Jingles for our entertainment. There was a lot of singing, moving to the music and playing instruments. It was lovely to see the residents talking and singing with the children, popular songs which included, The wheels on the bus, If you’re happy and you know it and Jingle Bells.A lot of fun was had by all, which created a happy atmosphere for the residents, staff and families. At the end of the session everyone had refreshments and socialised.Musical activities like this help to enhance the well-being of the residents as well as stimulating their social and emotional skills.Jo Jingles is a music, singing and movement class for babies and pre-schoolers, throughout the UK. Song Time is provided for inter-generational music and singing session in care home settings to improve the well-being of the older generation. We can’t wait to have them back with us!Whittington House Nursing Home in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire is a modern, purpose-built home and provides residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 66 people. If you would like to find out more about life at Whittington House, or would like to speak to a member of our team, please contact us on 0808 223 5396 or [email protected].
