Whittington House Nursing Home’s Spectacular Fundraising Day for Comic Relief
On Friday 17th March, residents and team at Whittington House Nursing Home in Cheltenham came together to fundraise and celebrate Red Nose Day, raising a grand total of £223.17 for Comic Relief.
As part of the day’s fun, Whittington House’s team members had their fitness pushed to the limit as they took part in a marathon static cycle ride that lasted an incredible 12 hours. The care home’s residents cheered the charity cyclists on and even took part in their own corridor torch relay.
Throughout Red Nose Day, an array of delicious cakes and refreshments donated by the caring team at Whittington House were on offer on the fundraising stall that was organised and run by the care home’s residents.
Whittington House resident, June, expressed her delight at all the fundraising activities: “We had such a special day! The homemade cakes were delicious, the relay that we did with the torch we made ourselves really made it feel like we were in the Olympics!”
Angelika Ziomek, Whittington House’s Home Manager, said: “The enthusiasm displayed by both team and residents during our Comic Relief fundraising day was truly heartwarming. Seeing everyone come together with smiles on their faces, dedicated to making a positive impact for charity, just reaffirms the sense of community that defines Whittington House.
“It's a privilege to work with such a compassionate team and to support residents who continually inspire us all.”
