Whittington House Supports Charity by Recycling Bras
The team at Whittington House have been donating their used, new or surplus bras to our bra bank. Part of a bra recycling scheme that takes unwanted or unloved bras and through a network of bra banks raises vital funds for pioneering breast cancer research.
Whittington House got involved with this initiative, that not only supports the research into secondary spread breast cancer, but also helps women across Africa have access to bras, which still remain an expensive item to produce locally.
The scheme takes the surplus bras and together with recycling partners, the textile recovery project prevents these bras going into landfill before giving them a new lease of life in countries such as Togo, Ghana and Kenya.
We have had an incredible response at Whittington House from all the staff and team and have nearly filled our basket! Well done everyone!!
