Residential Care
What is Residential Care?
Sometimes known as personal care or assisted living, residential care is care provided in a home for people who may need help to live independently and need additional support but aren’t yet in need of nursing care. The team are on hand to care for residents 24 hours a day, seven days a week and this could cover many elements of personal care, including:
- Dressing
- Bathing
- Medication supervision
- Shaving
- Oral care
- Going to the toilet
- Eating
What are the benefits of residential care?
There are numerous benefits to moving into a care home, for both the resident and their family members.
Our focus on personal care ensures that we take time to get to know every resident. We learn everything from their specific care and medication needs to when they like to wake up and how they take their tea.
We give as much independence as possible, letting individuals choose how to run the home and if they prefer dinner in front of the TV, or even dusting their own room, we’ll make it happen. Just as putting their own stamp on their bedroom, we’ll help them to personalise it with the things they love so it feels like home.
We make sure mealtimes are a relaxed, enjoyable experience and our team sit with the residents to provide company and support when needed. Our chefs select a different menu each day and create home-cooked dishes with fresh ingredients that taste delicious and provide plenty of nourishment.
Each home also has a dedicated Wellbeing team who organise regular activities that provide enjoyment and stimulation to the residents, from afternoon tea to arts and crafts and even days out.
For family members, you'll enjoy peace of mind knowing that your loved one is in great hands. Our residential homes offer everything needed for them to flourish, and you're always welcome to pop in for a cup of tea and a catch up.
