What is Respite Care?

Otherwise known as "short stays" or temporary care, respite care is a service for those looking for a short-term stay in a care home. There are a number of reasons people choose to enjoy a short stay with us:

• You may want to enjoy a short getaway from home, and with delicious meals and fun activities included in the price of your stay, our homes are a great way to have a little holiday.
• Respite care stays also benefit carers and give them an opportunity to take a short break from their caring obligations to go on holiday or to simply enjoy a well-deserved rest.
• Some people like to use a short respite stay to see what life in the home is like and often transition to permanent residence.
  
  

What to expect from Respite Care?

As with any stay at Caring Homes, we tailor the experience to the resident. Our qualified nurses and carers have the knowledge and expertise to care for residents with a wide range of additional needs, ensuring their stay is enjoyable and meets those needs.

Respite residents enjoy the same high-quality service that we offer to all residents, and you can expect delicious food, regular daily activities and comfortable surroundings, with our team overseeing on-hand to offer discreet help when needed.

Friends and family are able to visit at any time, and our residential homes are warm and welcoming environments that are perfect for stays of any duration.

We often find that our respite residents enjoy their time so much that they transition into full time residential care. This transition can happen quite quickly as the team already know all about the resident, not just their physical and medical needs, but on a personal level too. We're always happy to talk to respite residents about making this transition, so you can simply speak to a member of the team during your stay if you think you'd like to stay at the home on a permanent basis.
