St George's Day Celebrations at Guysfield

29th April 2019

On the 23rd of April 2019, St. George’s Day, Sally Frost came to visit Guysfield Residential Home, a clarinettist that takes you back down memory lane.

She performed some patriotic songs starting off with the hymn “Jerusalem”. Sally played well known songs our residents were familiar with and then asked the residents for any requests of tunes that were special to them. Between the songs Sally was engaging with the audience and trying to get to know them.

The residents and visitors thoroughly enjoyed the show and some people even had tears in their eyes (happy tears), so much so that the residents requested that this entertainer comes back again to perform for them. The performance was ended with The National Anthem- God Save The Queen. A great afternoon was had by all.

At Guysfield Residential Home in Letchworth we provide residential and dementia care for up to 49 elderly people. You can find us in the beautiful conservation village of Willian, just south of Letchworth Garden City, in Hertfordshire.
